- No time to walk? How to fit treadmill time into a busy day
No time? Try this
You don't need an hour. You need a few five-minute gaps.
Find the gaps#
- While the coffee brews or dinner's in the oven.
- During a phone call or a work meeting with your camera off.
- One episode of a show = one walk.
- Right after you get home, before you sit down.
- Before the kids wake up, or after they're in bed.
Stack it onto something you already do#
Pick something you do every day and walk right after it: after breakfast, after the school run, after you log off work. Habits stick best when they ride on an existing one.
Split it up#
Three 10-minute walks count the same as one 30-minute walk toward the weekly guideline. Two 5-minute walks are a perfectly good day.
Make it ready#
Clear the treadmill, leave your shoes next to it, and keep the safety key on the console. The fewer steps between you and the belt, the more likely you'll use a 5-minute gap.
The 5-minute walk → "I don't have time": the comeback →
