We sought to add a minute here and there.
Progress is boring and tiny and it works.
Once five minutes feels automatic, add a little. One more minute. A tenth of a mile per hour. A second short walk on some days. Tiny changes are easy to keep, and they add up quickly.
The 8-week plan on this site does exactly this, going from 5 to 30 minutes. Some weeks will feel easy; repeat any week that doesn't. There's no deadline and no prize for finishing early.
After a few comfortable weeks at 20–30 minutes, adding 1–3% incline is a good way to make the walk a bit harder without going faster. Build time first, then add challenge.
Do this today
Walk one minute longer than your last session. Just one.
